Aura… finally.

Third times the charm..

Third times the charm..

Well, after my third go at applying Aura to my first ever pendant, I’m finally happy with it! I fired again last night and burnished it hot. I’m getting much better results by firing in the dark, so I think I’ll continue on with that.

I’ve burned through a few polishing pads in the tries I’ve made..  it’s amazing how much stuff you can use up while you are trying to work out how to get a technique exactly right!

Today my 10 month old son took more of an interest in my jewellery.. he has just grown big enough to stand next to the dining table I work at and to reach up with his hand and pat about feeling for things.   My jewellery tools (the baby safe ones!) proved of immense interest today!

I also spent some time on my new ring/donut today. I got the inner rim finished and I’ve nearly completed the 4 “points” added to the inside of the outer rim. Although not quite as pointy as the Visby lenses which served as my inspiration, they should be large enough to house three granulation balls each.  I also started working on some rondelles to attach to the outer ring to hold 3mm gems.   Not sure which colour of gemstones I’m going to use yet.  I love the garnet ones, but I shouldn’t put garnets into everything?! (Should I??)
